Hoxeyville Music Festival Announces 2021 Lineup Topped by Bluegrass Phenom Billy Strings
Recent Grammy Award winner and Michigan native Billy Strings will headline the Hoxeyville Music Festival when it returns to Wellston, Michigan, August 13-15 for three days of some of the best of bluegrass, Americana, and roots music. Strings, who will play two nights, will be joined by festival heavyweights The Allman Betts Band, The Sam Bush Band, and Yonder Mountain String Band, among others.
They’ll be joined by a roster of stellar regional artists including Lindsay Lou, The Sweetwater Warblers, Airborne or Aquatic, Luke Winslow King, Michigan Rattlers, 49 Winchester, Seth Bernard, Full Cord, The Go Rounds, Jaik Willis, Adam Joynt Band and Darcy Wilkin. They’ll play across two stages to an audience capped at 3,000 in a pristine setting encompassing 150 acres surrounded by Northwest Michigan’s Manistee National Forest.
Hoxeyville offers attendees 85 acres of camping space just a short walk from the concert grounds, biking and hiking trails, fishing and paddling on the Pine River, food vendors, and a family-friendly environment featuring a kids’ tent. Acutely aware of pandemic-related concerns, festival organizers are making every effort to keep festival-goers safe, including instituting a mask policy.
“While we cannot mandate attendees be vaccinated, we will protect our youngest campers for whom vaccines are not yet available by requiring ALL ADULTS to have properly worn masks and socially distance in shared public spaces – this includes Stage areas, Vending, Kids Tent and walking paths,” organizers said in a Facebook post.
