Greenhouse Lounge Soaring into the Stratosphere

Fasten your seatbelts, head restraints, and assorted safety gear, ladies and gentlemen. Greenhouse Lounge have re-entered the building. They just blew it up and have three shows Memorial Day weekend in Dunedin and Jacksonville, and buddy, they are back BIG-TIME!

For years, Greenhouse Lounge was a mainstay on the concert and festival scene, crushing show after show. Then, in 2016, the band went on hiatus. There were some excellent outstanding electronica, prog rock, jamtronica bands out there, to be sure, but Greenhouse Lounge had carved out a devoted audience. In 2019, we heard the good news that Jason Hunnicutt (Universal Green, drums) and Dave McSweeney (bass, auxiliary keys) were “getting the band back together.”

This would be a new and improved lineup, with Billy Begley (Side Hustle) on keyboards and Steve Honig (S.P.O.R.E., Cowford Town Band) on guitar. They played a show at 1904 Music Hall in Jacksonville opening for The New Deal November 2019 (and they were better!). Then, BAM, COVID! The group slipped in a show or two in the Jax area last fall.

That was then; this is now!

They were part of an absolutely ridiculous Saturday (May 15) lineup at Orange Blossom Jamboree along with Tand, S.P.O.R.E., and Ajeva. And the GHL set was a complete KO! Positively brilliant! McSweeney was pumped:

The band has taken on a new form, and with this comes change, and we’ve embraced that and love where the band is going with this new electric energy behind us.

This audio is a direct soundboard. The show will be up on all platforms soon, and Volke Mon‘s video will be ready… when it’s ready!

Greenhouse Lounge will play two nights at Dunedin Brewery: Friday, May 28, and Saturday, May 29. There will be special guests Friday evening; Jason Hunnicutt’s band Universal Green will open Saturday night.

Sunday night (May 30) is a huge show at 1904 in Jacksonville with Roosevelt Collier! Even more: special guests Rohan Solo, SIDE TRAKD, and the one and only Vlad the Inhaler!
