Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Wheels of Soul Tour Won’t Roll Until 2022

After postponing last summer’s Wheels of Soul tour owing to the pandemic, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have, in an abundance of caution “due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding safe venue capacities and local regulations for the coming months,” opted to delay the tour until the summer of 2022. Derek Trucks explains:

“We are extremely disappointed at having to postpone Wheels of Soul again. We’re all missing the energy of live music – and there’s nothing like playing these large, outdoor shows alongside bands we admire. We were really hoping to get back on stage and dive into some fun big band collaborations with St. Paul, but unfortunately, with all the uncertainty, it just couldn’t work this year.”

The tour this summer would have included St. Paul & The Broken Bones and the Gabe Dixon Trio (Dixon is the keyboard player for TTB). Replacing St. Paul & The Broken Bones next summer will be Los Lobos. The tour is scheduled to run June 24 through July 26, 2022.

It is anticipated that Tedeschi Trucks Band will play some limited-capacity, socially distanced shows this summer.
