Positive Legacy Announces Wellness Challenge to Benefit Mental Health Causes
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Positive Legacy, in partnership with Backline and Kilter, is set to launch their May wellness challenge: “May the Wellness Be With You” to raise awareness and funds for mental health causes. Realizing that the country’s mental health crisis stretches beyond just the music community, Positive Legacy invites friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to join the challenge by coming together during this difficult pandemic, where remaining active and caring for everyone’s mental and physical health is as important as ever.
Participants will earn points as they stay physically and mentally healthy while fundraising for a good cause: mental health. They’ll be tracking their activities each day during the month of May to compete on an interactive leaderboard for prizes. Every registration adds to the total fundraising goal plus participants can request support from their loved ones by using Kilter’s pledging function to ask people to donate based on their achievements. 100% of contributions will benefit Positive Legacy (the non-profit arm of music destination events company Cloud 9 Adventures) and Backline (a non-profit organization that connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health resources).
Visit the Positive Legacy event page to register and learn more. Then download the Kilter app, create your account, complete your profile, and connect your devices. Visit the EVENTS tab and see the campaign in MY EVENTS. There is also a special registration contest for those who enter before the end of May 1st. All early registrants will receive a special swag bag and will be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card.
To complement the Wellness Challenge, Positive Legacy is hosting an online auction this weekend only featuring a one-of-a-kind quilt made with official New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival t-shirts from 1996 to 2014. This 74.5” x 76” handmade piece of art was donated in memory of Jake Vandercar. The Bid for Positive: Jazz Fest Quilt Auction is underway and ends on Sunday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET. Proceeds will benefit Positive Legacy and Backline.
