Kenny Chesney Postpones Summer Stadium Tour Once Again to 2022
Country superstar Kenny Chesney has shelved his Chillaxification Tour for this year. The all-stadium tour had been originally set for 2020, with Chesney headlining along with Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion and Gone West performing on select dates along with Michael Franti & Spearhead supporting the tour. As the pandemic raged, the tour got pushed back to 2021, and now it’s planned for a summer run in 2022. The 22-date summer tour had been set to kick off on May 1 in Tampa, Florida, with the final show scheduled for August 28 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The tour will include a new opening lineup that has yet to be announced. Stadium tours in 2021 have recently started rescheduling concerts for next year as Covid-19 concerns in addition to social distancing worries have become a point of contention as the summer concert season approaches.
The longtime signer/songwriter formally announced to the No Shoes Nation (devoted Chesney fans) about the change to this year’s tour dates. “I hate what I’m about to tell you. With all the progress being made around the pandemic, there is still too much unknown.”
All current tickets will be honored for rescheduled show date. If you love your seat, you’re all set. Beginning now, if you’re unable to attend the rescheduled show, request a refund at point of purchase.
