Not familiar with March Fourth? Try — this isn’t easy — to imagine Parliament-Funkadelic, the USC marching band, a burlesque show, Cirque de Soleil, and Andy Frasco & the U.N., all rolled into one absurdly magnificent spectacle.
Got the image? That is a reasonable facsimile of March Fourth, the incredible 20+member traveling band delighting audiences nationwide with their music, costumes, theatrics, acrobatics, and more music. And the music is BRILLIANT!
Here’s the scoop:
MarchFourth celebrates its 18th anniversary with a virtual concert featuring footage from the best of the last three anniversary shows at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland OR (2018-2020), hosted by bandleader John Averill. This streaming show features 18 songs from their recent touring material to older songs that aren’t in the usual rotation, plus some unreleased gems.
For the first time, M4 fans from around the world can attend the band’s unique over-the-top anniversary party with extra musicians, bigger acrobatics, special guests and more. Dance party in your living room? Let’s do this!
The stream is managed by DICE.fm, and tickets are available through their website. The cost is $8. This anniversary party is presented by March Fourth, Methow Arts, Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Fest, and Crystal Ballroom. The stream will be available until 9 p.m. PST on Saturday, March 6, in case you aren’t able to make the event time.
