The Wham Bam Fam Jam at St. Johns County Fairgrounds December 11-13

We’ve been fortunate in Florida to have at least some live music events over the past several months, and here comes another outdoor, socially distanced, responsibly run festival, this time at St. Johns County Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday, December 11-13. The Wham Bam Fam Jam is hosted by Audioplayground Entertainment, Michael Uhlar, and Colleen Strickland Fetzer. The organizers shared this:

The Wham Bam Fest is a surprise music and arts festival that will be held by and for St. Augustine’s creative community. These are the people who inspire, entertain, and make our little city a unique and exciting place to visit, explore, and call home.

Most people and businesses have seen better times and, with an economy that relies on tourism, the hospitality and entertainment industries have been hit particularly hard. We are taking Covid-19, the social distancing, and sanitation guidelines very seriously and are making the safety of our guest, staff, and artists a top priority. For the sake of everyone’s well-being and health, we all feel it is time to bring the music back, to get the artist working, and to encourage the people to dance again.

Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band

We have had overwhelming support from everyone and nothing but positive responses and encouragement. We are aware of the short notice, but we feel this can work to our advantage since this is the first event of its kind in a long time. We do not have to tell you how eager people are for the return of live shows. We are expecting between 1,500 and 4,000 attendees each day.

Local artists can apply to sell their work (visual artists, instrument builders, jewelry and clothing makers, etc.) and set up their booths for free while there is space available. Proceeds from ticket sales will be distributed among local musicians who participate in making this event happen.

Let’s look at the lineup of musicians. The first round of artists includes: Yo Momma’s Big Fat Booty Band from Asheville, The Ries Brothers from Clearwater, Reggae Lou, Unified Mind, Amy Hendrickson, Sam Pacetti, Colton McKenna, I-Vibes, Ricky Star, Michael Jordan, Billy Sunday, and One Good Ring. More will be announced shortly. Already revealed are outstanding Jacksonville rockers Bonnie Blue.

Tickets range from $30 – $250. Get in on the fun and the music… with that mask!
