Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Set For Florida Holiday Run
Southern California swing revivalists Big Bad Voodoo Daddy are set to make a five-stop December run as they bring Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild & Swingin’ Holiday Party to venues across Florida. After 27 years together and despite the recent surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, the pinstripe kings of swing are back on the road performing to live audiences and adding to an already impressive run of more than 3,000 live shows.
The Ventura, California, based band has maintained a steady touring schedule since it first formed in 1990. These well-travelled road warriors average more than 150 shows a year, all while continually expanding their impressive catalog of music that includes the bands most recognized hits “Go Daddy-O,” “You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby),” and “Mr. Pinstripe Suit.” The culmination of a steady global fanbase has led to the band selling in excess of over two million albums to date.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s founding members Scotty Morris (lead vocals and guitar) and Kurt Sodergren (drums and percussion) make up the core of the band along with Dirk Shumaker (double bass and vocals), Andy Rowley (baritone saxophone and vocals), Glen “The Kid” Marhevka (trumpet), Karl Hunter (saxophones and clarinet), and Joshua Levy (piano, arranger).
