Sam Bush, Del McCoury to Play Drive-In Shows Near Asheville

In a time when our live music scene has been severely constricted, we are grateful for more and more announcements of drive-in shows across the country. The Grey Eagle, Asheville’s longest running live music venue, is proud to announce its first pair of drive-in style concerts featuring full band performances from master mandolinist SAM BUSH on Sunday, September 20, and nine-time IBMA “Entertainer of the Year” DEL MCCOURY Saturday, October 3.

The shows will take place at Maggie Valley Festival Grounds and will be the first in a series of socially-distanced off-site events presented by The Grey Eagle.

These first two drive-in concerts presented by The Grey Eagle will take place just outside of Asheville in neighboring Maggie Valley with limited parking available and a maximum vehicle occupancy of six guests. RVs, camper vans, and Sprinters are prohibited. Only vehicles with no more than four wheels and clearance of under eight feet will be allowed on site.

These are ALL-AGES, socially-distanced shows. Each “ticket” purchase is for a 20×20 socially-distanced square, with ample room for parking and “tailgating” within your designated area. There will have full-scale stage production for those that choose to enjoy the show from outside your vehicle, and they will also be broadcasting to your car stereos via FM frequency for those that choose to stay “indoors”… so plenty of options for everyone to enjoy this evening! An HD screen will be included side-stage for a heightened viewing experience.

Advance tickets are on sale now. For more information and to stay up to date on future drive-in show announcements, visit www.thegreyeagle.com.
