2019 Neil Young Concert Film, Live Album Expected Next Year

In a year already full of great news concerning Neil Young, there is now more. Earlier, Young release new album Homegrown, great new political anthem “Looking for a Leader 2020,” and new EP The Times. Now we can expect a concert film and live album recorded the 2019 summer tour, when Young toured with Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real.

Noise and Flowers will feature music recorded during their tour of Europe and the U.K. last summer. Young and the group departed for the tour just eight short days after the death of Elliot Roberts, who for 50 years was his manager. Young shared his view of the project in The Neil Young Archives:

“[Daryl Hannah] and I were on the bus, on our way to New York to catch a plane to Europe, when we got the call. After returning to the funeral for our beloved Elliot, we got on the plane and left for the tour. During the tour, we had a poster of Elliot on a road case, right where he always stood during out shows. Everyone who was with us felt that this tour was amazing for its great vibe. The Real and I delivered for Elliot. Noise and Flowers is truly a great collection, dripping with the soul of our band as we played for our fallen leader.”
