First Show Back: Dave Watts & Friends

Some of us have been getting out to some live events: outdoor patios, drive-in shows, socially distanced events, and Smashmouth at Sturgis (OK, NOT that one). Others of us have warily waited at home. We are excited to be attending our first show since March.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first event that Dunedin Brewery has put on since the shutdown and sporadic openings around Florida. This particular show is in huge demand, but owner Michael Lyn Bryant has kept the attendance extremely low, with four persons to a table and a number of other necessary precautions to ensure that musicians, wait staff, and patrons alike can have an enjoyable evening of music out. Due to the demand, Bryant held a Phish-style blind drawing from email entries to determine the “winners of the golden tickets,” because golden they are. And, obviously, Table Reservation Lotto is Closed & Sold out!

The event is Dave Watts and Friends, and what a collection of friends he has! Watts is drummer and founder of The Motet from Boulder CO. The Friends include: Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident), percussion; Jeff Lloyd (The Heavy Pets), guitar, vocals; Meesta Juanjamon (CopE), keyboards, saxophone, vocals; Matt Lapham (Shak Nasti, Roosevelt Collier); and Jessica Jones (Chroma Donna), vocals.

Didn’t get a golden ticket? YOU can livestream the entire show on the Dunedin Brewery Facebook page!
