Not a Moment Too Soon: Dance Party Time Machine

It’s a safe bet we all wish we could hop into a time machine and either jet ahead or jet back to forget — however temporarily — our current situation. Since we can’t actually do that, here’s the next best thing: Dance Party Time Machine!

Who? What?

Some of our best musical friends have collaborated remotely on five tracks (and here’s hoping there’s a lot more where these came from):

Dance Party Time Machine: Fairman, Divinsky, Fairman, Jalbert & Greenfield

Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits), keyboards; Mike Greenfield (Lotus), drums; Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), background vocals; Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band), background vocals; Lyle Divinsky (The Motet), vocals; Ryan Jalbert (The Motet), electric guitar; and Josh Fairman (SunSquabi), bass

Dance Party Time Machine: Hartwick, Divinsky & Cressman

“Burning Down the House,” the first of the five songs released, was produced by Gary Mellini. Josh Fairman was the tracking, mixing, and mastering engineer at Laskin Productions. And this song and those to follow are available on Color Red Music, with great thanks to J2G Live! “For almost a decade, J2G Live has been bringing world-class artists together to celebrate the greatest dance party songs of all-time for their sought-after ‘Dance Party Time Machine’ shows.”

To paraphrase George Clinton, “If somebody’s gonna get funked up, it OUGHT to be you!” What are you waiting for? Jump right in that Dance Party Time Machine!
