Jorma & Janis — San Francisco 1964

Jorma Kaukonen wanted to be a blues player. Janis Joplin was determined to be a blues singer when she moved to the San Francisco area in 1963. As good fortune would have it, they rehearsed together before a San Francisco benefit, where these six tracks were recorded (along with a backing typewriter)! You can read all the details in this article in Best Classic Bands. The tunes are all traditional except for Joplin’s original “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy.”
