Desert Dwellers Set to Stream Second Installment of Beyond Borders Series
Electronic music producers and sonic alchemists Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, better known as Desert Dwellers, will be pushing the boundaries of the audiovisual experience with the second installment of their Beyond Borders live stream series. Co-presented by management firm Pivotal and set to take place Friday, June 19, at 4 p.m. PDT/7 p.m. EDT, the virtual event will showcase performances by Random Rab, Kaya Project, SaQi, Liquid Bloom and a closing set by the Desert Dwellers.
Aiming to capture the essence of a live show, the one-night happening will also feature visuals by film director Julius Horsthuis, live painting by Amanda Sage, and movement as art by flow artists and dancers Anthony Flowers, Crescent Dance Project, and Pole Priestess. Fans can access the live stream on Desert Dwellers Twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/desertdwellersmusic. While the event is free, fans can donate directly to the artists on Venmo or PayPal with a portion of the proceeds donated to the NAACP to assist the Black Lives Matter Movement.
The first Beyond Borders live stream took place on May 15, welcoming 1,400 attendees via Twitch and Facebook, with more planned monthly throughout the summer and beyond. “In a time where human connection is more challenging than ever, it is these live stream event that offers a new and limitless platform for unity as artists and viewers come together to create a common space in the digital realm,” read a statement from a Desert Dwellers’ press release.
