Polyrhythmics Set to Release 5th Studio Album ‘Man from the Future’
During the insanity of trying to catch lots of music at Suwannee Hulaween, this happened:
Oh, the conflicts! We’d heard noise about a Seattle band called Polyrhythmics who had a time slot opposite STS9. I made it for the last half hour of their set, and let’s just say any hype was drastically understated. Their horn section — Scott Morning, trumpet; Art Brown, tenor sax, flute; and Elijah Clark, trombone — punctuated every song with superb work, and the other key was Ben Bloom on guitar. Fabulous!
Polyrhythmics: they’re not just for the West Coast anymore! This outstanding band can do it all: funk, rock, Afrobeat, jazz, R&B, fusion. We did a feature article about them in November. And they are set to release their fifth studio album, Man from the Future, May 8 on Color Red, the record label and music platform founded by Eddie Roberts of The New Mastersounds.
Pre-order for the album starts March 27, and a vinyl pre-order will also be available.
Polyrhythmics are: Ben Bloom, Guitars | Grant Schroff, Drums | Nathan Spicer, Keys | Lalo Bello, Percussion | Karl Olson, Percussion | Jason Gray, Bass | Scott Morning, Trumpet | Elijah Clark, Trombone | Art Brown, Sax and Flute
