Electric Kif Goes Full Speed Ahead with Spring Tour Announcement
Showing no signs of slowing down after a smashing winter run including pre-shows at GroundUP Music Festival in February and a tour of the Southeast with Snarky Puppy’s Shaun Martin, Miami’s Electric Kif announced a spate of shows covering parts of the South including stops in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Texas.
Some noteworthy highlights include guest appearances by legendary saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis of James Brown’s band and co-writer for hits like “Cold Sweat” and “Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud” in Dunedin, FL; playing support for Tuscaloosa’s CBDB in Charleston, SC; a late-night New Orleans Jazz Fest set at The Blue Nile for Snarky Puppy/Ghost Note drummer Robert “Sput” Searight’s Sputacular; their Dallas, TX, debut with Portland, Oregon-based Yak Attack; and two very special nights with The Motet on tour in Florida.

Known for creating cutting-edge, space-age grooves that dip flawlessly in and out of genres including, rock, electronic dance, and jazz, Electric Kif has picked up steam with their fantastic and innovative album JEFE, which was released to critical acclaim last fall. The quartet is made up Digo (bass & Moog bass), Eric Escanes (guitar), Jason Matthews (Hammond SK2, Fender Rhodes, & Moog) and Armando Lopez (drums). They will kick off the tour with a special Miami show at their home base Lagniappe featuring jazz pianist and mentor Aaron Parks.
