Hannah’s Buddies: The Encore!

Hannah’s Buddies returns to the House of Blues Orlando in Lake Buena Vista for an encore presentation Saturday, February 22. The Hannah’s Buddies Charity Classic golf tournament is on Friday; that event is sold out, as always.

Hannah and Buddies 2014

A bit of explanation:

In 2000, John Bell of Widespread Panic set off on a mission—bring people together for a weekend of golf and music to raise money for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) research. His goddaughter, Hannah, had been recently diagnosed with SMA and he was intent on helping her and others with this disease. Hannah’s Buddies was born. For 15 years straight, John hosted a golf tournament and silent auction in Orlando topped off with a JB & Friends night of music. More than $2 million has been raised for SMA research!

The golf tournament is an event to be reckoned with. Golfers (used loosely) come from across the U.S. to tee it up with John and the devoted supporters of Hannah’s Buddies. They are also treated to a dinner and silent auction full of cool music memorabilia, sports collectibles, show tickets and more. The event tops off with a show that features a solo set from Mr. Bell himself followed by a collection of friends playing their hearts out for the cause.

In the 15 years of Hannah’s Buddies, John and Hannah have been joined at the House of Blues by the likes of Col. Bruce Hampton, Galactic, North Mississippi All-Stars, Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Kevn Kinney, Jerry Joseph, Mike Mills, JoJo Hermann, Jimmy Herring, Sunny Ortiz, Robert Randolph, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Drive-by Truckers, Outformation, Futurebirds, Barbara Cue, and Nickel & the Polar Bears.

The most recent Hannah’s Buddies was in 2014. It is time to revive the memorable event one more time and join together to raise money for SMA research and support.
