Wanee Block Party is Back With Its 2020 Lineup
The 2020 edition of Wanee Block Party will return to Revolution Live in downtown Fort Lauderdale on April 25, headlined by Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, Stephen Marley, and Blues Traveler. They will be joined by Allman Betts Band, Jaimoe & Friends, Pink Talking Fish, Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio, The Lee Boys, Crazy Fingers, Unlimited Devotion, Ben Sparaco, JUke, and the Melody Trucks Band. The Allman Brothers-themed event is co-sponsored by radio station Big 105.9.
Inspired by the much-loved Wanee Music Festival founded by The Allman Brothers Band that operated for 14 years in Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL before shutting down in 2019, Wanee Block Party will get underway at noon on Saturday and include Jason Bonham’s tribute to his late father, Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, and Stephen Marley performing unplugged.
The weekend’s festivities will kick off on Friday, April 24 with an evening pre-show featuring Pink Talking Fish along with popular locals JUke and Unlimited Devotion at America’s Backyard next to Revolution Live. Click here for tickets.
Saturday’s party will continue long into the night after the main event ends with a Wanee Late-Night Show hosted by Allman Betts Band, which includes Devon Allman (son of Gregg Allman), Duane Betts (son of ABB guitarist Dickey Betts) and Berry Oakley, Jr. (son of founding ABB bassist Berry Oakley). Tickets and information available here.
