Ladies and Gentlemen: This… Is BoomBox!
It seems appropriate that Muscle Shoals, Alabama, is the home of BoomBox, that delicious mix of “rock, house, dirty disco blues, and vintage psychedelic” brought to you by Zion Rock Godchaux and Kinsman MacKay. What began as a glorious ear worm the moment we first heard that child’s voice saying, “Ladies and gentlemen: This… is BoomBox,” followed by “Stereo,” has cascaded into a catalog of great albums and concert and festival performances.
Western Voodoo, the fifth album from BoomBox, was released last October, 13 years after their debut with Visions of Backbeat. They begin their fall tour Thursday, September 5, at Woodlands Tavern in Columbus, Ohio.
The September portion of their fall tour finds them in the Midwest. The October portion into November has them up and down the East Coast, and there are several California dates later in November. BoomBox have also announced that their New Year’s celebration will be in Denver at the Ogden Theater, accompanied by DYNOHUNTER and GoodSex.
