Five Bands You Should not Miss at Pilgrimage Music Festival
5: Devon Gilfillian
Being able to sleep at home often has an impact on quality of work, at least in our experience. With Devon Gilfillian being based out of Nashville, you should be prepared to see this hometown hero be ready to absolutely shred on Sunday. This roots-inspired rock outfit is sure to dazzle your ears and your heart.
4: Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Unless you have been living under a music festival rock, you have definitely heard of Preservation Hall by now. The New Orleans-based ensemble is a must-see any time they come around, bringing that big brass sound to the stage that really makes you feel like you just landed in the French Quarter.
3: The War and Treaty
Do you want to get your folk music story on? If so, do not miss out on the wonderful duo that is The War and Treaty. If we had to pick one word to describe their monumental performances, it would be “powerful.”
2: Kacy and Clayton
It just seems appropriate to give a shout-out to the Canadians on the first day of hockey season (go Preds!). Kacy and Clayton are an amazing roots duo hailing from the land of the maple leaf. Coming off a hot sting of performances at Nashville’s AmericanaFest, the band is primed for their Pilgrimage debut.
1: Foo Fighters
We will be the first to admit that this one may be a bit of fan service. Foo Fighters are the selling point that got our writer to commit to this festival as a part of his bucket list. Their presence in the rock space is one that just can’t be ignored, still filling large venues with ease, and if there is one man alive today who earns the title “rock god,” it is Dave Grohl.
