Breaking: Hurricane Dorian Forces Rolling Stones to Move Date to Friday
Legendary British rock icons The Rolling Stones will move their final U.S. tour date of their No Filter Tour up by a day as Hurricane Dorian threatens the Florida peninsula with a Category 4 storm. While there is plenty of uncertainty where the storm will make landfall, the Rolling Stones should be on their private jet headed to the United Kingdom before the fierce storm strikes Florida on Sunday evening. One of the bigger issues is the time it takes to load out all of the equipment and staging; the original Saturday date would have been rain-soaked before, during, and after the show.
The concert is now scheduled for Friday, with gates opening at 6 PM, and the legendary rockers taking the stage at 8:30 PM at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. While this may be of some inconvenience to fans who may not be able to take Friday off, the storm itself will encourage employers to let employees leave early to prepare for the unprecedented story of 2019.
The Rolling Stones were previously scheduled to play on April 20 in Miami, but the date had to be rescheduled due to Stones frontman Mick Jagger’s heart condition. In addition to the date change, opener Colombian superstar Juanes will not perform.
