The Marcus King Band Family Reunion Announces Second Wave of Artists
The Marcus King Band Family Reunion just grew its clan to truly ginormous, throw-down proportions with the announcement of a second wave of awe-inspiring artists including Yonder Mountain String Band, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Nigel Hall Band, Doom Flamingo, Mimi Naja (of Fruition), The Shady Recruits, Doyle Bramhall II and J.B.O.T (Josh Blake’s Organ Trio).
They’ll join the initial list of performers, which include Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, Amanda Shires, Futurebirds, Los Coast, and Charlie Overbey & The Broken Arrows. Of course hosts The Marcus King Band will be there for two sets for the two-day festival, taking place at Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain NC on September 27 and 28.
Now in its third year, the event is a true family affair with all the artists hand-picked by Marcus King himself, who has crossed paths with these extraordinary talents on the road. An astonishing guitarist and multidimensional singer/songwriter, King has spent many months crisscrossing the country during a grueling touring schedule in support of MKB’s latest album, the critically acclaimed Carolina Confessions released in October of last year.
The festival is about “bringing together our families – the brothers and sisters we’ve come to know on the road, for a weekend of breaking bread, making music, and fellowship,” said King in a statement following the release of the initial lineup in June. “We hope to see all of you at the annual Family Reunion this year.”
