The Gathering at Chaffee’s Has Powerful Lineup!
If you want to talk about awesome, how about The Gathering at Chaffee’s? The 39th annual event takes place next Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27 in Girard, Pennsylvania, hosted by the Chaffee family. Your MC host is Garret Skindell, bringing you lots of great music, a kid’s drum workshop on Saturday, and more. The Gathering at Chaffee’s benefits the Children’s Advocacy Center of Erie and Shriners Hospital for Children.
Three outstanding bands headline each day, with many more regional acts on the lineup.
When Boston quintet Spiritual Rez tell you that a show with them will be the “craziest reggae horn dance party you’ll ever be a part of,” you should believe them. they ain’t lyin’. These guys will get you moving, and you won’t be able to stop. Spiritual Rez are: Toft Willingham, vocals, guitar; Jesse Shaternick, bass; Ian “Meat” Miller, drums; Quinn Carson, trombone; and Mohamed Araki, keyboards, keytar.
Mungion are a quartet from Chicago excelling in the four major food groups: rock, jam, groove, and funk (well, they are delicious). These guys always entertain. They will also play the Peach Festival Saturday. Mungion are: Justin Reckamp, guitar, vocals; Joe Re, keys, vocals; Sean Carolan, bass, vocals; and Matt Kellen, drums, vocals.
What do you get when you combine funk, psychedelic rock, and jam? For one thing, you get LITZ, the Gaithersburg, Maryland, quartet who just tore it up at Electric Forest. These guys make the excitement electric whenever they take the stage. LITZ are: Austin Litz, keyboards, vocals, sax, flute; Logan Litz, bass; Pat Shine, guitar, vocals; and Nick Thrasher, drums, vocals, percussion.
Who else but Magic Beans could hold the annual Beanstalk Festival? The quartet has been tearing it up in their home state of Colorado, and the Boulder boys are looking forward to bringing their funk jams to Chaffee’s. They play the Peach Festival Friday. Magic Beans are: Scott Hachey, electric & acoustic guitars, vocals; Chris Duffy, bass, vocals; Casey Russell, keyboards, synth, vocals; and Cody Wales, drums.
JOE HERTLER & THE RAINBOW SEEKERS
If you claim to be a post-Motown Folk Rock band, you’d better back it up. Michigan septet Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers will make you believers once you see their dynamic stage show. They too will play Peach Friday and then Chaffee’s. The Fritz. Seriously. Funk doesn’t get any better than what this Asheville quintet throws down each and every time they play. Their original soul-driven dance rock has blown up stages far and wide, including their incendiary Suwannee Hulaween set.
