Blues From the Top Music Festival Returns to Winter Park for Number 17
For the 17th year, Blues From the Top Music Festival returns to Winter Park, Colorado, on Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30. There is music each day and each night, great youth talent on the “Keeping the Blues Alive” stage, and music on Thursday and Friday nights around town as well.
The main two-day event starts each morning at 11 a.m. (gates open at 10), with the final performance of the afternoon beginning at 4:30, all at Rendezvous Event Center at Hideaway Park.
THURSDAY
The Winter Park and Fraser Chamber bring you the Michael Hornbuckle Band, and there will be a tribute to John Catt, with the unveiling of a bronze statue in his honor. Later, there will be music at Ullrs Tavern.
FRIDAY
The Keeping the Blues Alive jam will be at Cooper Creek Square. The Mike Zito Big Band with the B.B. King Horns will play Blue Star Connection Night at Headwaters Center. Music will also roll out off Ullrs Tavern and Winter Park Pub.
SATURDAY
John Nemeth and the Blues Dreamers kick off the main event Saturday morning at 11. Selwyn Birchwood follows, then Samantha Fish, The Record Company, and headliner Lucinda Williams. Williams will be playing a Car Wheels on a Gravel Road 20th-anniversary set!

Birchwood and Nemeth and company return for Blues After Dark at Headwaters Center, and Ullrs Tavern once again will feature live blues.
SUNDAY
Jimmy Vivino and the Kate Moss 3 have opening honors at 11, followed by Tinsley Ellis. The Danielle Nicole Band will feature Mike Welch. Pedal steel master Robert Randolph and the Family Band and the Allman Betts Band bring the afternoon activities to a close.
About that Allman Betts Band. This project is the collaboration of three of the sons of members of the original Allman Brothers Band: Devon Allman, son of Duane; Duane Betts, son of Dicky; and Berry Oakley, Jr.
But of course you’re not done yet. Andy Irvine’s Blues Collective with Kate Moss host the After-Fest Party and Jam at Winter Park Pub.
*PHEW!*
