Candler Park Music and Food Festival Ready to Rock Atlanta

Ten great bands and dozens of amazing food trucks and vendors await your arrival Friday, May 31, at the Candler Park Music and Food Festival in Atlanta. Prepare yourself for two great days in a gorgeous setting. You’ll find this one of the most eclectic festivals anywhere in terms of both music and food! This great event is presented by Rival Entertainment and Brewed by Terrapin.

FRIDAY

Gates open Friday at 4 p.m. Nashville country artist Priscilla Block opens the musical floodgates at 5. She is celebrating her current single “Tip of My Tongue.”

That incredible funk machine from Augusta known as Funk You is up next, and there is truth in advertising when it comes to this band’s name, because they will funk you up but good.

Stephen Marley now works out of Miami, but his Kingston roots will always show. He continues the great family legacy of positive vibes and great sounds.

If you haven’t heard Greensky Bluegrass before, when they’re done you’ll understand why they have their own festival (Camp Greensky) and why this Kalamazoo quintet is always in demand for their blend of Americana, bluegrass, and roots rock.

Gates open at noon, and local jamsters Webster will show you how the hometown people rock it starting at 12:45.

Some of the best groove rock you’ll ever hear will come to you courtesy of Aqueous, the Buffalo quartet. These guys will put you in a magical trance.

Larkin Poe have been drawing rave reviews every time they hit the stage. They have taken their Atlanta mix of roots rock and roll and blues far and wide.

Duluth quintet Trampled by Turtles also blend various genres into their superb acoustic booyah (Minnesota gumbo) and cross the nation serving it up.

Dr. Dog is, well, it’s like this. Beautiful harmonies and great roots rock emerge every time the Philadelphia quintet takes the stage.

Finally, Dispatch. This Boston trio has been in the business for 25 years with a devoted following. They are one of the biggest indie bands ever, and you’ll find out why.
