Turkuaz Does Charlotte

Fresh off a short run with Buffalo jam powerhouse Aqueous, Brooklyn-based nonet Turkuaz rolled into Charlotte for their performance at the Fillmore Underground on Saturday, April 13. Turkuaz’s music is as bright and colorful as their wardrobe. They have a rich and full sound featuring horns, funky bass lines, guitars that cut through the mix, and bright vocal harmonies. They met an energetic crowd who were already warmed up from the Moo and Brew Fest from earlier in the day that featured North Carolina’s own BIG Something and ’90s rockers Everclear.
The show was a non-stop dance party. The band breezed through one long set filled with fan favorites that had the crowd singing along and dancing to the funky sounds coming from the stage. With big smiles, plenty of crowd interaction, and fun coordinated dance moves, Turkuaz definitely knows how to put on a great show! I highly recommend checking them out when they’re in your area.
