Third Annual GroundUP Music Festival Kicks Off February 8

The third annual GroundUP Music Festival is back this weekend with an intimate gathering of international artists and fans who appreciate eclectic music offerings including jazz, Americana, world, funk, soul and jam. Hosted by Snarky Puppy, one of the most versatile, hard-to-pigeon-hole bands on the scene today, the event will kick off on Friday, February 8th, and run through Sunday, February 10th, at The North Beach Band Shell in Miami Beach.

In addition to Snarky Puppy, who will play all three days, the diverse lineup includes David Crosby, Ghost-Note, Tank & The Bangas, Richard Bona, Andrew Bird, Lalah Hathaway and Funky Knuckles. Joining them will be Chris Potter Circuits featuring James Francies & Nate Smith, Michelle Willis, Susana Baca, Bokanté, Maz and more.

On Friday, fans of “Live From The Great Room,” hosted by multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird, will be treated to a festival version of the popular series featuring GroundUP artists. Throughout the weekend, music lovers can also participate in workshops and master classes taught by the festival’s musicians.

Presented in partnership with The Rhythm Foundation, festival organizers are limiting tickets sales in order to accommodate no more than 1,800 people per day to promote a more intimate feel and interactive space for both the audience and musicians. Count on the setting being relaxed considering the sprawling Palm Grove Park and beachfront complex adjacent to The North Beach Bandshell’s amphitheater is just steps to the Atlantic Ocean.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased by clicking here. For more information, click on the links below.
