Brought to you by the same folks that bring you Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Forecastle is equal parts music, arts and activism. Begun in 2002 by Louisville native JK McKnight as a community event focused on local artists and Kentucky’s rich heritage, the festival has grown to one of summer’s most anticipated events, which includes an emphasis on arts and activism. Local artists will be on hand with their works including at The API Poster Show, where regional artists showcase their catalogues and connect with music fans.

The Forecastle Foundation, the activist arm of the festival founded by McKnight in 2010, invites attendees to become involved in its mission to protect the planet’s natural resources with a focus on biodiversity hotspots. Operating year round, the foundation has donated more than $400,000 to local and global conservation projects.

This being Kentucky, with a sumptuous history of food and libations, there will be lots of both to sample. The Forecastle Bourbon Lodge will feature the state’s most famous export along with unforgettable culinary experiences. The festival will also partner with White Clay to honor the legacy of bourbon aficionado and rebel journalist Hunter S. Thompson with The Gonzo Bar.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, February 13, at 10 a.m. EST and can be purchased by clicking here. For more information, click on the links below.
