The Mighty Mighty Bosstones to Headline South Florida Garlic Fest
The “Best Stinkin’ Party in South Florida” celebrates its 20th anniversary on Saturday, February 9th, and Sunday, February 10th, with a weekend-filled lineup of reggae music ranging from local bands to national acts. The South Florida Garlic Fest takes place at John Prince Park in Lake Worth.
The two-day food, art and entertainment festival has been a part of the Palm Beach County scene for the past 20 years. If you love all things garlic, you will have a chance to experience Gourmet Alley, a food area that will feature over 100 dishes of varying types that all have the celebrated infusion of garlic.
Music has always been a part of this long-running festival, and every year garlic lovers anxiously await the announcement of who will be headlining this year. In years past, Collective Soul, Lifehouse, Hoobastank, Pepper, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and Michael Franti & Spearhead have played the main stage at Garlic Fest.
This year’s headliners The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are the nine-member band that will bring their unique blend of ska with punk rock and hardcore sounds to play at the festival.
There will be music throughout the day by other local and national bands including the Brother United Band, Fabulous Fleetwoods, The Resolvers, El Dub, and Strange Brew. Music starts at noon on Saturday and Sunday with a continuous flow of tunes throughout the day until The Mighty Mighty Bosstones takes the stage at 9:00 PM.
If you love garlic, there are plenty of garlic-inspired dishes to satisfy your pallet. Some of the dishes you may have tried in the past, or perhaps you want to live on the edge and try something new. Some of the more popular South Florida Garlic Fest favorites include flaming shrimp scampi, garlic crab cakes, garlic bruschetta, garlic pizza, garlic Argentine BBQ with garlic black beans and rice, garlic portobello sandwiches, and many other delicious and delectable dishes… and Garlic Fest favorite — the garlic ice cream!
The newest addition to the festival this year is the Funky Buddha Beer Garden, a place to relax and enjoy featured brews that will be offered each hour. There will be other beverage choices along with a full liquor bar for those who may want to indulge in a cocktail.
