Blues Traveler’s Accelerated Nation Tour Takes Detour, Hints at Big Things to Come
Something mysterious and wonderful is up with jam pioneers Blues Traveler for what would have been the second leg of their Accelerated Nation Tour. No, the three-week jaunt through late winter and early spring in support of their latest album Hurry Up & Hang Around isn’t cancelled. It’s just been renamed to take into account plans for what the band promises will be “a major summer package,” according to an announcement on their website.
After an appearance at Kaboo Cayman on February 16, The Almost April Springtime FunRun “Third Leg” 2019 kicks off on February 27 at House of Blues in Anaheim and then on to House of Blues in San Diego on February 28. The band will make stops in Las Vegas and Tempe before heading to the Southeast including Charleston, Macon, Lake Buena Vista, Alabama, Destin and New Orleans, where they will conclude the tour on March 15.
In a statement to fans in major markets like New York, Chicago and Atlanta, who were expecting to see the band perform this spring, John Popper and company gave this assurance: “Fear not, we are coming. Just a little bit later, and we’re bringing some friends with us.” More dates will be forthcoming shortly, along with an announcement in February revealing wondrous things that will be in store for summer.
