NOLA Crawfish Festival Announces Tasty Initial Lineup for 2019

The fourth annual NOLA Crawfish Festival just cracked open a delicious initial lineup for 2019 and another opportunity to chow down on Louisiana’s most famous mouth-watering delicacy – crawfish, of course! Set for April 29 – May 1 at The Central City BBQ in New Orleans, the three-day festival will feature the Crescent City’s best, including Anders Osborne and Friends, Neville Jacobs, NOLA Crawfish Fest All-Stars, Samantha Fish and Jonathan “Boogie” Long, NOLA Crawfish Allstars, and Iceman Special with more to come.

Presented by Nola Crawfish King, the festival will offer ample opportunity to not only gorge on heaps of mudbugs but also indulge in epic collaborations with superstars from the New Orleans’ music scene. While the “Friends” part of Anders Osborne and Friends are still under wraps, several other supergroups’ rosters read like a who’s who of New Orleans music royalty. Neville Jacobs, which includes Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville and Tony Hall, cigar box-guitar rocker Cris Jacobs and drummer Brady Blade, will be bringing the funk and soul like nobody’s business.

Expect huge things from NOLA Crawfish Fest All-Stars, which is made up of George Porter, Jr., iconic bassist for The Meters; Dave Malone, legendary guitarist and vocalist for The Radiators and Raw Oyster Cult; psychedelic soul guitarist Billy Iuso; and Dirty Dozen Brass Band drummer Terence Higgins. Then there are blues heroes and guitarists extraordinaire Samantha Fish and Jonathan “Boogie” Long, who promise to blow festival-goers right outta their shoes.

Naturally the center of attention for the festival is crawfish and the eating and cooking of them thereof. Professional and amateur eaters can see what they’re made of, “pinching dem tails and sucking dem heads” at the festival’s 2nd annual NCF Crawfish Eating Championship. Cooks can test their mettle at The 4th Annual Crawfish Cook-Off, to be judged by some of New Orleans best-known musicians and mudbug gourmands.
