Dark Star Orchestra: New Year’s Run, Jamaican Jam in the Sand, Dark Star Jubilee & More
Don’t get in front of Dark Star Orchestra; they are an unstoppable force. Their calendar is loaded closing out 2018, with a blockbuster 2019 lined up right after it. Add to lots of concert dates Jamaican Jam in the Sand, Dark Star Jubilee, and a special Red Rocks performance.
DSO will say farewell to 2018 with a pair of shows at Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia and then two shows at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair.
Then DSO welcomes you to Jamaican Jam in the Sand in January. Dark Star Orchestra will perform complete two-set shows each of the four Nights, and they have invited The Wailers (two sets) and Green Leaf Rustlers (three sets) along for the party. Green Leaf Rustlers are Chris Robinson, John Molo, Pete Sears, Greg Loiacono and Barry Sless.
There are 14 Dark Star dates in February, all on the West Coast, including two nights at The Showbox at The Market in Seattle and two at The Warfield. The February 14th show at Durham Memorial Hall (not coincidentally Vanentine’s Day) is a special Rising Up to Paradise show, with special posters created by David Lundquist of Eagle Eye Studios, to help fund the fire recovery effort.
At the end of March, they will begin a 14-show swing through the South, with five dates in Florida, four in North Carolina, and a pair at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta.
Dark Star Jubilee comes to Legend Valley Concert Venue & Campground in Thornville, Ohio, Memorial Day weekend with a slammed lineup including Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Leftover Salmon, Billy Strings, Dumpstaphunk, Donna the Buffalo, The Lil Smokies, The Nth Power, and The Mighty Pines, with more to be announced.
Dark Star Orchestra will head to Red Rocks to recreate 09.08.83, joining Hot Tuna on the bill. They will play the two nights previous at the Boulder Theater.
