Cosmic Barley Beer & Music Fest Today & Saturday with Loaded Lineup
Scrap your plans for today and tomorrow. Head to Fort Pierce, Florida, for the Cosmic Barley Beer & Music Fest! There will be food trucks, vendors, live art, and flow artists, and Big Mike McCullough, host of the Mushroom Stage at Wanee (of blessed memory) will be your master of ceremonies.
FRIDAY (Today, December 14th)
Today’s headliners are Unlimited Devotion. The band has developed a devoted fan following and a reputation as one of the America’s most popular Grateful Dead-inspired musical ensembles with a reputation for improvisation at its finest. Unlimited Devotion provides their own interpretation of the Grateful Dead songbook with strong jazz and funk influences.
Also performing today will be Moska Project, the eclectic Firewater Tent Revival, and the inimitable Flint Blade.
SATURDAY
The schedule for this day is as loaded as loaded can get. Grass is Dead is so much more than the band name implies. Certainly, they approach the music of the Grateful Dead from a bluegrass perspective, but it goes far beyond that. Master guitarslinger Bobby Lee Rodgers plays rock, blues, jam, and jazz, all with incredible flair.
The Joe Marcinek Super Jam is ridiculous. The great guitarist will be joined for this set by Borahm Lee (Pretty Lights, Break Science), Nate Edgar (The Nth Power), and Michelangelo Carubba (Turkuaz).
Funk juggernaut Holey Miss Moley comes from Everywhere, Florida (and Muncie!), to spread the funk all over Cosmic Barley. The Melody Trucks Band is a titanic force continuing the legacy created by Melody’s father, Butch Trucks. And Antelope: A Tribute to the Band Phish does a brilliant job of channeling the vibes initiated by Trey, Mike, Page, and Fishman.
Back in the day, Bonnie Blue would have released their debut album on Capricorn vinyl. The Jacksonville-based Southern rockers certainly fit squarely into that mold, which we know served up an amalgam of rock, country, jazz, blues, and Southern stylings. SoulJam are an uplifting jamband from Vero Beach making new fans everywhere they go. Side Hustle is a deep-groove, rock, soul and funk group formed and based in Jacksonville, and Victoria Cardona is a guitarist/ singer/ songwriter/ loop maven.
