Top Three Bands to See at Riptide Fest
In less than a week, Riptide Music Festival will take over Fort Lauderdale Beach. The lineup celebrates a huge variety of alternative rock, from ’90s heavyweights to modern-day legends. With over 50 bands performing over the three-day fest, it might be hard to choose what sets you should check out. Headliners are excluded from this list of must-see bands at Riptide Music Festival due to the fact they will be playing somewhat unopposed. This is all about that undercard. This list of bands to see at Riptide Fest is in no particular order.
Robert Delong
This man sure knows how to put on a show. He takes Nintendo 64 controllers and turns them into wild sound-morphing machines. When you combine looping vocals, lasers that he plays with fly swatter-looking things, necessary bass drops, hallucinogenic guitar riffs, and a massive stage presence, you are guaranteed to have an awesome time at his show.
Alice Merton
Make sure you see Alice Merton at Riptide Fest. She has slowly started to become more popular over the past year, greatly due to the success of her song “No Roots.” I can almost guarantee that she will soon be in the top few lines of major festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Coachella. She boasts one of the most unusual and beautiful voices in alternative rock. She is riding a wave of energy right now; don’t miss her energetic set.
Rainbow Kitten Surprise
If you haven’t heard of Rainbow Kitten Surprise yet, shame on you! Their sound is hard to describe — it’s alternative rock with a splash of folk and rap. Their sets are always oozing with love and exploding with spirit, a whiskey-drenched soulful ride for the soul. These North Carolina natives will not disappoint.
Riptide Music Festival – November 30th-December 2nd
This was not an easy top three list to make. The undercard is absolutely stacked; Riptide Fest really killed it this year. If faced with headliner conflicts, I suggest seeing Young The Giant over Sublime With Rome, Matt & Kim over Live. Tickets are somehow still available; make sure you grab them before they sell out.
