Second Annual Bourbon & Beyond Hosts A Star-Studded Lineup This Weekend in Louisville
Kentucky is known for quite a long list of good stuff – bourbon, mouth-watering Southern cooking, music, and bourbon chief among them. In celebration of all three, the second annual Bourbon & Beyond Festival will be going on this weekend in Louisville with a star-studded lineup that includes John Mayer, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters, David Byrne and more.
Set for September 22 and 23 in Champions Park, the festival features an equally impressive undercard that includes The Counting Crows, Gov’t Mule, Brian Setzer’s Rockabilly Riot!, Keb’ Mo’, JJ Grey & Mofro, The Del McCoury Band, Kaleo, The Record Company, Don Felder, Blackberry Smoke, The Magpie Salute, and The Last Bandoleros.
The event also honors Kentucky’s bluegrass traditions with “The Bluegrass Situation Stage” featuring The Travelin’ McCourys, Ben Sollee, Billy Strings, River Whyless, Lindsay Lou, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Reignwolf, Madisen Ward and The Mama Bear, and Phoebe Hunt & The Gatherers.
The choice in music is phenomenal and is only matched by the endless list of the state’s most famous product, bourbon, which can be sampled all weekend long at “The Big Bourbon Bar,” featuring wares from craft distilleries. When not engrossed in the music, festival-goers can also participate in workshops covering food, music and all-you-want-to-know about bourbon.
The inaugural festival was packed last year with 50,000 attendees, and organizers expect huge crowds again this time around. But tickets are still available online and will be at the gate. For more information and how to purchase tickets, click on the links below.
