Inaugural Funktoberfest Florida Rolls into Maddox Ranch
It’s about time to get your funk on at Funktoberfest Florida. What is Funktoberfest, you ask? Some people noticed a void, a hole in the soul of the funk, and they sought to fill that void. These visionaries selected Maddox Ranch in Lakeland FL as the location and October 5-7 (Friday-Sunday) as the dates for this funk-fest.
Sixteen bands signed on immediately to make this vision a reality, including The Reality, Holey Miss Holey, Guavatron, Future Vintage, and The Psychedelic Monks, just some of the heavy hitters on the Florida festival circuit. Throw in Valdosta’s Custard Pie and The Get Bye, Rusty Shine, and High Test, and you’ve got a real party. Add Master Radical, Sweet Cambodia, The Wilted Chilis, Chieforia, and The Xotic Yeyo, and you’ve got a full-blown funk-out.

The staff and ownership of Maddox Ranch proudly present Florida’s Funktober Fest – a festival made by fans & musicians for fans & musicians – pure love. This is the first in a series of in-house festivals to be held at Maddox Ranch. The goal of the festival is to help pull Floridians out of the funk! To promote healing through food, music, art, and love.
This is a 3-day, 3-night funk fest designed to return everyone’s “muchness,” to teach that magic is to be created rather than awaited, to create an endless supply of musicians, artists, healers and lovers of all types.
This festival is also a fundraiser for a newly-forming Florida non-profit, and a portion of the proceeds will go toward the creation of a traveling stage designed to take music into Florida’s darkest corners, to bring light and healing to where it’s needed most.
Guests are welcome to begin setting up camp 10 AM Friday. You may enjoy an art and craftsman village, food and beverage vendors, children’s play areas, and numerous workshops. Here is the schedule by day:
