Joe Marcinek: The Man with No Band and Many Bands… All at Once!
Is he the man with no band or the man with dozens of bands? The answer is both, actually, if the man is Joe Marcinek. Technically, he has no one band. On the other hand, seemingly at a moment’s he can conjure up an all-star lineup for a night or a week. The Indiana guitarist has again cast his net and snared a brilliant quartet.
Familiar faces appear in this rendition of JMB. Steve Molitz, the keyboard wizard from Particle, is on board, as is Mr. Cincinnati himself, Freekbass. And they are joined by superb drummer Alan Evans (Soulive). The quartet has five consecutive dates beginning Tuesday (August 21st) in Cleveland, followed by stops in Rochester, Buffalo, Ferndale, and Davenport. Friday, they get support from Ultraviolet Hippopotamus’ Brian Samuels on bass.
This collaboration might never happen again. Get you some.
