Unlimited Devotion Busy with Fundraisers, Jerry Celebrations, Much More
Unlimited Devotion, one of the America’s premier Grateful Dead-inspired musical ensembles, has a jam-packed eight weeks coming up, with fundraisers for keyboard wiz Darryl ‘Funky D’ Quesenberry, Jerry Garcia birthday celebrations, days between celebrations, and Woodstock anniversary gigs in the mix.
UNLIMITED DEVOTION are: Dan DeGregory, drums and lead vocals; Joe Falconeri, bass; TJ Glowacki, bass; Darryl ‘Funky D’ Quesenberry, keyboards and vocals; John Zias, lead guitar & vocals; Al Zilinsky, rhythm guitar & vocals.
The band plays E.R. Bradley’s Saloon in West Palm Beach tonight (Saturday, July 14th). Next weekend they pull a de Bine Brewing Co. doubleheader, with Grateful Dead Night on Friday and a Funky D super jam Saturday. Sit-ins are encouraged. On July 28th, the band will hold another fundraiser, this time at The Blueberry Patch, sponsored by de Bine Brewing and Crowbar in Ybor City.
The next four events all revolve around Jerry Garcia, who was born August 1st, 1942, and left us August 9th, 1995 (thus the ‘days between’ reference in addition to its use as a song title penned by Garcia and Robert Hunter).
Guanabanas in Jupiter will host the 3rd Annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash on Sunday, July 29th, with Unlimited Devotion joined by the excellent Daniel Heitz Band, always entertaining Uproot Hootenanny, jamtronic masters Guavatron, Chapman stick wiz Flint Blade, and Spiral Light.
On Wednesday, August 1st, the action moves to the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach. This special show also features Toni Brown & Friends; Brown was publisher and owner of Relix Magazine for 22 years (1980-2001). Relix originator Les Kippel is a special guest, and Relix rock poster artist Gary Kroman will also be on hand.
Next Unlimited Devotion hits two Days Between celebrations, first at the PCB Bamboo Room in Lake Worth and then at Causeway Cove Marina in Fort Pierce. Also on the schedule are a pair of Woodstock anniversary parties at the PCB Bamboo Room and at Blackbird Ordinary in Miami (Woodstock was August 15-17, 1969, although it’s fair to say Hendrix was still playing on the morning of August 18th).
