Make Plans for Summer 72 on the Santa Fe River Now – and Peruse the Schedule
The schedule is out for Summer 72 Music Festival, the inaugural event on the banks of the Santa Fe River in Court White (High Springs FL). This new two-day fest is sponsored by First Magnitude Brewing Company, Rum 138, Locochino, and Lively Up Entertainment, and we’re just ten days out from some great music and relaxation July 20th and 21st.
There will be two stages with some overlap between sets. Headlining the Main Stage Friday will be Consider the Source, the brilliant NYC trio who play “progressive sci-fi Middle Eastern Fusion.” Festival host Locochino and Valdosta’s ubiquitous Custard Pie also grace the main stage.
Many will be sure to check out hometown-girl-made-good Hannah Harber and the Lionhearts, and Matthew Fowler kicks off the whole fest with his set at 5:15 Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the DIY Stage climaxes with The Funky Miracle, Gainesville’s NOLA channelers. Before that, you’ll hear Tristan Harvey and Anubis, Benny Cannon and Friends (Cannon is Locochino’s drummer), and Noah Mac.
Friday’s Silent Disco will feature Locochino (The Paws of Silence) along with Dillon Rose, SIDE TRAKD, Missin Dread and more TBA.
On Saturday you can frolic in the sun and splash in the 72-degree water (yes, that’s how the fest gets its name — also from First Magnitude’s pale ale called 72). You have time to canoe, kayak, and float on the crystal-clear water.
Music begins at 3:30 with an outstanding fresh face on the scene, Trail Diver from Jacksonville. One-man orchestra Zach Deputy headlines the Main Stage. Superb fusion band Electric Kif concludes their July tour at Summer 72. You’ll also catch Just Neighbors and Aquanova on the main stage.
The DIY Stage opens with one-man Chapman stick performer Flint Blade, along with (V)OWLS and Headstash. But prepare yourself for Kittens IN Spaceships, which may or may not be Locochino playing non-Locochino-like music.
There will be Silent Disco Saturday as well, featuring Electric Kif’s Jason Matthews. Also enjoy DJ Robzilla, Lonny G, Anubis and more TBA.
Get in on the first-time fun with this great music festival, just a stone’s throw from the Santa Fe River. MusicFestNews will see you there!!!
