Inaugural Waterloo Music Festival in September with Three Nights of The String Cheese Incident

Howdy, pardners! There’s a new festy sheriff in town, and his name is…

Waterloo Music Festival

This brand new festival debuts September 7th through the 9th at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin TX. This is an independent jam music and camping event founded by Heard Presents, Havin’ A Ball Productions, and Unknown Entertainment. Carson Creek Ranch boasts 60 acres of pecan tree-lined campgrounds and scenic views from the banks of the Colorado River.

The full lineup will be revealed in the near future, but for the moment you can bask in the glow of three nights of The String Cheese Incident, and you know what that means! There is simply nothing this band cannot do, and three nights means they will cover all the bases, just as they do at Suwannee Hulaween.

Also on the bill are Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD), their first-ever Texas show! Russo and company deliver amazing Dead-ly vibes every time they hit the stage. Railroad Earth are genre-twisters who begin with Americana roots and wind up in multiple directions, all superb.

If you’re looking for funk, fusion and more, Waterloo definitely has you covered. The Motet out of Colorado are one of the hottest funk bands you’ll ever hear, and their Afrobeat is simply sublime. TAUK will convince you that you’ve travelled back to the heyday of fusion with their explosive instrumental sounds.

BoomBox will definitely deliver on their promise of “rock-disco-house-vintage psychedelica,” and Marco Benevento is always magic with his souped-up piano.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The lineup will be loaded with national, regional and local jam bands of all shapes and sizes. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 11, at 10 AM CDT, starting at $99 for three-day GA pass.

Waterloo is an independent festival that celebrates the roots of Austin music culture. The organizers explain that, before the name Austin was chosen for the city, Waterloo was initially incorporated as the name for the capital city of Texas due to its ideal location along the Colorado River. The city’s unique musical identity has been firmly cemented with Austin City Limits, SXSW and countless other shows and festivals in the area. Waterloo will be a welcome addition.

More tickets will be released in the coming weeks, including: VIP three-day passes $199, camping packages starting at $70 (in addition to festival admission), car camping an additional $49.
