Summer Jam Concert Series 80’s Party brings together an incredible lineup consisting of some of the biggest names in rock. Expect to see an epic collection of bands playing full sets consisting of their hits, the songs you remember rocking to with big hair and parachute pants.
Perhaps you have been to other festivals where you have to park miles away and take the long walk to the gates, and by the time you arrive your beat, with just the excitement of seeing your favorite bands keeping you going. However, this extremely intimate ’80s party takes place at the Abacoa Town Center Amphitheater, a small and intimate venue without the endless rows of vendors, in what promises to be an event just about the music.
And who will be rocking Summer Jam, you ask? John Waite, Patty Smyth and Scandel, The Romantics, Tommy Tutone and The Filmores.
Nobody can argue that the ’80s was truly a special era in music that produced songs that will live on forever. Summer Jam’s lineup includes John Waite, who reached Billboard’s #1 chart spot twice with “Missing You” and as part of Bad English’s hit “When I see You Smile.” John Waite’s other hits include “Every Time I think of You,” “Change,” “Tears” and “Isn’t it Time.”

The Romantics, whose career started in Detroit, became known for producing high-energy shows and had a unique look consisting of red and black leather. Like many bands from the ’80s, The Romantics had several hits that have kept them relevant, as they continue to tour in today’s ever changing music scene. Hits include “What I Like About You” and “Talking in Your Sleep.”
The Summer Jam ’80s Party will also feature power pop band Tommy Tutone, whose chart-topper hit “867-5309/Jenny” reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981.
