NYC Subway Sensations Blac Rabbit Announce First Tour

Blac Rabbit is a four-piece psychedelic rock band that hails from NYC’s ultra-cool Rockaway Beach, founded by twins Amiri and Rahiem Taylor. The band has some amazing original music, but what draws people in at first are their amazing renditions of Beatles tunes. Between playing shows, they, like many struggling musicians in New York, took their talents to the subway to gain exposure and most importantly to raise money. After the Facebook page New York Nico spotted them busking and posted a video of Amiri and Rahiem covering “8 Days a Week,” something they never thought would happen did, they went completely viral. The video that was then shared on Urban Leak has been viewed over 24 million times.

The viral video lead them to booking a show at Knitting Factory Brooklyn, Union Pool, a few Facebook Live performances, being featured on NBC, and even Ellen (yes that Ellen) all within a few months. While on Ellen, Amiri and Rahiem performed “8 Days a Week” and were then joined by the full band to perform “Solitude Is Bliss” by Tame Impala.

Now the band is embarking on a sixteen-date tour, beginning in Rhode Island and ending with a show at NYC’s famed Bowery Ballroom. Check out all the dates below, follow them on Facebook for information on tickets and be sure to check out their original tunes as well!
