TODAY’S QUIZ! What Do Mike Campbell and Neil Finn Have in Common with…

What do Mike Campbell and Neil Finn have in common with Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch, Bob Weston, Lindsey Buckingham, Billy Burnette, Rick Vito and Dave Mason?

They are the tenth and eleventh guitarists to perform with this one rhythm section. You know, the one with John McVie and Mick Fleetwood.

Yes, THAT Fleetwood Mac.

Apparently, a disagreement about the band’s upcoming tour was a divisive enough that the band has ‘fired’ Buckingham. Whether that means for this tour or permanently remains to be seen. In the meantime, all other parties seem to feel that Mike Campbell, guitarist for the late Tom Petty with the Heartbreakers, and Neil Finn, founder of Split End and frontman for Crowded House, are both natural fits for the band.

Fleetwood Mac, no stranger to drama, have weathered many changes, most notably, as listed above, at guitar, and also the relationship between Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, drug issues, a member disappearing, Nicks’ absence for more than a decade, and  Buckingham’s ten-year solo career. Through it all, McVie and Fleetwood have weathered the storm and kept the band performing for 51 years.

Fasten your seatbelts.

THEN PLAY ON…
