The Revivalists to Headline Red Rocks
The Revivalists will be crossing another milestone off their bucket list when they headline the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison Colorado on September 13. Indiana-based alternative bluesmen Houndmouth and high-energy Baltimore rockers J. Roddy Watson and The Business will be playing support.
It’s been an amazing couple of years for the New Orleans-based Revivalists, currently an eight-piece ensemble consisting of vocalist and guitarist David Shaw; lead guitarist Zack Feinberg; pedal steel guitarist Ed Williams; bassist George Gekas; keyboardist and trumpet player Michael Girardot; saxophonist Rob Ingraham; drummer Andrew Cappanelli; and percussionist and most recent addition to the group PJ Howard. Riding a wave of commercial success cresting with their hit “Wish I Knew You” and appearances on The Today Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the group’s stop at Red Rocks seems fitting for a band that has toured almost constantly for over a decade building its devoted fan base the old-fashioned way.
This will be the band’s second time playing the venerated amphitheater, having played there once before in support of JJ Grey and Mofro and headliner Michael Franti and Spearhead in 2015. But they are favorites on the festival circuit, having played The New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival, Bonnaroo, Levitate Music And Arts Festival, Bottlerock, Austin City Limits, and many more. They are currently on tour in support of their most recent album Men Amongst Mountains.
