Firefly Music Festival Unveils Fan-Inspired Beer Collaboration with Dogfish Head!

Firefly Music Festival and Dogfish Head have announced their debut of a brand new Firefly Ale, a craft beer featuring ingredients chosen by fans. Firefly Ale has been the official craft brew of this East Coast festival since 2012, and this year’s mashup is tart and citrusy, featuring flavors such as guava puree, coconut flower nectar, and tropical fruit notes.

Starting on March 12th, the two companies looked to Firefly festival supporters to assist with creating this year’s fan-curated ale. With pale ale as the default base, participants could then vote on adding grapefruit, yuzu or guava as the new ingredient for the 2018 Firefly brew. This mix is set to be available on draft at the Dogfish Head onsite during the four-day festival.

Dogfish has partnered with Firefly since the festival’s inception in 2012 and continues to be a mainstay of the event. This June the brewery will showcase new additions to the Dogfish tent, including a SeaQuench Ale Shade Station for fans to drink and relax between sets, a Dogfish merch shop, and two can bars with 19.2oz cans of 60 Minute IPA and SeaQuench Ale.  Fan favorites will also be available for purchase on tap, including 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, SeaQuench Ale, Flesh & Blood IPA, Namaste White, Firefly Ale, Midas Touch, and Dragons & YumYums.

Firefly Music Festival will return to the woodlands for its seventh year from June 14th through the 17th. This year’s headliners include Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Arctic Monkeys, and The Killers. Also on the lineup are acts such as ODESZA, Lil Wayne, Logic, Martin Garrix, SZA, alt-J, Portugal. The Man, Foster the People, MGMT, Mike D (DJ Set), and much more.
