Batter Up! Displace Embarks Upon Spring Training Tour
The Spring Training Tour commences this evening (Thursday, March 8th) at Voltaire’s in West Palm Beach for Tampa funksters Displace. This is the sixth year for the quartet that is equally adept at jazz, rock, jam, pop and even a bit of reggae. They have two outstanding studio albums to their credit (Eureka! and Undertow) in addition to dozens of excellent live recordings on Bandcamp.
From West Palm, the tour takes Displace to Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee before returning for the Dunedin Brewery Spring Beer Jam on Friday, March 23rd (the event runs March 22-25).
Displace are: Chris Sgammato, alto saxophone, rhythm guitar, keyboards, lead vocals; George Pennington III, lead guitar, vocals; Tucker Sody, drums; and Vinny Svoboda, bass guitar.
