Weather Alert: St. Pete and Boca Raton Brace for Sunshine Music Festival Tsunami
Have you checked the weather forecast for this weekend? It’s calling for widespread sunshine — here in the Sunshine State. Saturday in St. Petersburg it will be a cool, breezy, wonderful 60 degrees. Sunday in Boca Raton, the mercury will hit 70.
Sounds absolutely perfect for the Sunshine Music Festival invading Vinoy Park in St. Pete Saturday and the Mizner Park Amphitheatre in Boca Sunday (January 13th and 14th). The Tedeschi Trucks Band and musical friends will warm you up with two amazing days of music.
You can check out video clips of all the performers in our previous article. The lineup features Phish bassist and creative genius Mike Gordon and his band, brilliant trio Medeski, Martin, and Wood, and Crescent City funksters Galactic. Hot Tuna has no intention of slowing down, offering an electric set, and The Suffers are bursting onto the scene with their soulful funk. And that leaves Foundation of Funk, built on the solid base of The Meters’ founding fathers George Porter, Jr., and Zigaboo Modeliste, and they are joined by Eric Krasno and John Medeski.
Herewith we offer 25 hours of music from these bands on our Spotify playlist. Foundation of Funk has no recordings, so you’ll forgive us if we threw in a few hours of The Meters.
If you start now, you just about get finished by the time you head to Vinoy Park Saturday or Mizner Park Sunday (or both!).
MusicFestNews will see you at both shows! Cheers!
