Broccoli Samurai Closes in on One Hundred Shows This Year with Florida Run
From Maine to Miami, Maryland to Minnesota, Broccoli Samurai, the superb jamtronic quartet from Cleveland, has crisscrossed the eastern half of the US relentlessly, 93 times so far! (Plus a Colorado run!) And they didn’t begin this manic touring until March. By the time 2019 arrives, they’ll be in triple digits, and we’re afraid to ask about those tour miles.
As is usually the case, “jamtronic” only begins to scratch the surface in describing what this band does, from jazz and funk to great fusion and, of course, that wonderful trance-dance stuff. Broccoli Samurai are: Ryan Hodson, keyboards; Cameron Bickley, drums; Zachary Wolfe Nagi-Schehl, bass; and Michael Vincent, guitar.
After a short break, they resume their tour tomorrow (Wednesday, November 15th) at Jack Rabbit’s in Jacksonville. The four-date Florida swing includes Melbourne, the Zen Awakening Festival in Wildwood, and Skipper’s Smokehouse in Tampa, where we last saw them blast a great show in June.
Frank Zappa said: “Call any vegetable.” But start with the Broccoli. Samurai, that is.
