Robert Randolph Brings His Sacred Steel To Florida This Week, Announces Dates with Phil Lesh

Robert Randolph is absolutely one of the masters of a unique musical form that blends Sacred Steel with secular funk and R&B into an absolute force of high-energy sound.

This week sees Robert Randolph And The Family Band bring this fusion to the Capitol Theater in Clearwater Florida on Thursday October 5th. The show starts at 8 pm, and, like most of his shows, that means everyone will be out of their seats by 8:01. His music is the sort that people cannot sit still for. The joy that he brings to what he does is infectious and come blasting out of the strings on his pedal steel immediately.

There is a reason so many musical icons ask for Randolph to sit in with them, from Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes and Devon Allman to Eric Clapton, Phil Lesh, Carlos Santana as well as many more. Randolph’s playing is incredible. He is a master of his instrument as well as being one of those people who can captivate on stage. He is one of those people who collects the energy that comes from playing live music and then sends it right back out into the crowd. As if that resume wasn’t already enough, Rolling Stone has also placed him on their list of 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.

Robert Randolph And The Family Band released a new album this year, Got Soul. They will be touring extensively for the next several months.

At the end of October, Robert along with Nicki Bluhm will join with Phil Lesh and The Terrapin Family Band to play several dates in D.C, New Jersey and New York.
