Suwannee Roots Revival Announces First Round of Artists
The 2017 Suwannee Roots Revival announces the initial lineup for the Oct 12-15 festival held at the majestic Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida. The festival will be a gathering of top-notch bluegrass and Americana bands from across the nation with camping, family-friendly activities, and a collaborative musical spirit. The first round of artists that will be gracing the stages includes Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, The Wood Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, Peter Rowan and Dharma Blues featuring Jack Casady, Donna the Buffalo, Jim Lauderdale, Verlon Thompson, Willie Sugarcapps, Rev Jeff Mosier Band, Seth Walker, Joe Craven & The Sometimers, Nation of Two, River Whyless, The Grass Is Dead, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, Dread Clampitt, Rumpke Mountain Boys, The Pine Box Dwellers, Grandpas Cough Medicine, The Adventures of Annabelle Lyn, Belle and The Band, Sloppy Joe, Quartermoon, Jeff Bradley, Habanero Honeys, Tania and Magic Moon Traveling Circus, and the Suwannee Spirit Kids Music Camp.
The SOSMP has a long tradition of hosting premier festivals, and even though the Suwannee Roots Revival is only in its second year, it has filled a void left by the departure of the long-running Magnolia Festival. Many of the fine folks who built and nourished those festivals have come together to keep Roots music alive and thriving in North Florida. With a tribe of dedicated festivalgoers and musicians who have been coming to the park for the past two decades, it will once again be a revival of musical spirits where friends and chosen family come home for four days of soul-recharging music. Early-bird tickets and upgraded camping are available online, so get ’em while they’re hot!
We will keep you posted on updates and additional artists as they are announced.
